Float Switches

Float Switches are commonly used for liquid level control or alarming in applications such as sump pumps, holding tanks, sewage ejectors, effluent pumping tanks and other water and wastewater applications. They float on top of liquid such as water or sewage and activate at the installed set point. There are two types of float switches. A “pump” switch directly switches electrical power to the pump while a “control” switch sends a signal to an alarm or motor starter within a control panel

Sensors

Sensors can also be used in applications for water and wastewater. A sensor will be wired to a control panel which will alarm and activate a pump. Sensors can be steel probes, ultrasonic sensors, pressure switches, pressure transducers, acoustically activated or one of many other technologies that can be used for sensing liquid levels.

Big Switch

This switch works great for pumping ranges between 8” and 22”

The Big Switch is used to directly turn on a sump pump or sewage pump. The high amp rating of the Big Switch allows you to automatically control pumps up to 2 hp. The Big Switch is mechanically activated and does not contain hazardous mercury like other switches on the market. The tether guide on the Big Switch helps you set the desired pumping range. Available in hardwire, 120 VAC and 230 VAC piggyback plug configurations.

Mini Doser

This switch works great for mini or micro dosing a drain field or for pumping ranges between 3.25” and 9”

The Mini Doser is used to directly turn on a sump pump or sewage pump. The high amp rating of the Mini Doser allows you to automatically control pumps up to 2 hp. The Mini Doser has a 45 degree activation angle which allows for smaller pumping ranges than a traditional pump switch which has a 90 degree activation angle. The Mini Doser is mechanically activated and does not contain hazardous mercury like other switches on the market. The tether guide on the Mini Doser helps you set the desired pumping range. Available in hardwire, 120 VAC and 230 VAC piggyback plug configurations.

Doublemax ™

This switch works great for pumping ranges between 4? and 60? and where it is desired to have separate stop and start floats which are combined in one float switch.

The Doublemax combines two float switches to give you a very precise and very large pumping range. The Doublemax is used to directly turn on a sump pump or sewage pump. The high amp rating of the Doublemax allows you to automatically control pumps up to 2 hp. The Doublemax is mechanically activated and does not contain hazardous mercury like other switches on the market. Available in hardwire, 120 VAC and 230 VAC or 120 VAC or 230 VAC piggyback plug configurations.

Unimax Narrow Angle

This switch is designed for narrow angle operations such as sending a signal to a high water alarm or control panel.

Narrow angle means the switch activates slightly above horizontal and deactivates slightly below horizontal. The switch can be ordered for high level activation – normally open switching contacts or low level activation – normally closed switching contacts. The Silver contacts in a Unimax switch are a good conductor of electricity and are good for sending on/off signals to alarm lights, buzzers and motor contactors. The Unimax is mechanically activated and does not contain hazardous mercury like other switches on the market. The rounded edge of the float buoy helps it float around debris in the tank where other floats will get stuck or hung up. .

Unimax Gold

This switch is designed for narrow angle operations that are using a programmable logic controller - PLC or milliamp rated device such as an intrinsically safe relay. The Unimax Gold is also available in a wide angle configuration – consult factory for information.

The Gold contacts are a great conductor of electricity at small voltage and current levels. The Unimax Gold is ideal for sending on/off signals to very sensitive electronic devices. The Unimax Gold is mechanically activated and does not contain hazardous mercury like other switches on the market. The rounded edge of the float buoy helps it float around debris in the tank where other floats will get stuck or hung up.

Unimax Medium™

The Unimax Medium is designed to send a signal to a solenoid valve or control panel. This switch has an activation angle that is greater than a narrow angle float but less than a wide angle float switch – 45 degrees.

The Unimax Medium is perfect for water tank fill applications using a solenoid valve or for pond fill applications where detection of liquid levels at smaller pumping differentials is desired. Use the Unimax medium in any application where a control switch is needed with a level range between 3.25” and 9”. The rounded edge of the float buoy helps it float around debris in the tank where other floats will get stuck or hung up.

Sensors

Suspension Probe

Alderon’s suspension probes are designed for the precise operation of pumps in water applications such as storm water systems or clean water systems.

Alderon’s suspension probes are used to send a signal to a motor contactor or alarm. The probes are designed for operation in storm water systems, clean water systems. When water touches the probe, it activates a relay in the control panel to trigger the alarm or start a pump.

Pressure Transducer

Pressure transducers are designed for the precise operation of pumps in sewage or water applications.

Alderon’s suspension probes are used to send a signal to a motor contactor or alarm. The transducer is mounted a few inches off the bottom of a tank and is connected to a control panel. A continuous level read out at the panel allows for multiple set points for alarm and pump control down to a tenth of an inch.

Switching Technology

Oil/Water Sensor

Oil/Water sensors are designed to pump water and alarm for high water or high oil. These sensors will not pump oil, even if it is present in the tank.

Alderon’s oil/water sensors are used to send a signal to a motor contactor or alarm. The oil/water sensor connects to a control panel to detect water for pumping and alarming either high water or oil level.
